Key documents are available on the FRCS Part 3 website under the documentation section. Candidates should ensure that they have read the examination’s terms and conditions, and the FRCS Ophthalmology Part 1-3 regulations before proceeding.
First time candidates eligible for direct entry through the ICO route must submit the following documents in order to proceed this application. Failure to provide any of the below documents may result in your application being rejected.
· An attested copy of your Primary Medical Qualification Certificate.
· 12 months internship/compulsory rotationship/pre-registration training certificate
· Evidence of the completion of 60 months of clinical experience of which 54 full months must be in Clinical Ophthalmology.
AND
· ICO Basic/Visual Sciences Certificate
· ICO Optics, Refraction, and Instruments Certificate
· ICO Clinical Ophthalmology/Clinical Science Certificate
OR
· Other exempting qualifications as outlined in FRCS 3 Exempting Qualifications Document
If your documents are not in English, you must submit an official translation of the document(s) along with the untranslated original(s). Please note that we require professionally translated documents. Any documents which have been translated by applicants will not be accepted.
Attested documents must include:
· A photocopy of your original document must be signed by a hospital consultant, a senior hospital official or a notary public.
· An original institutional stamp and date. e-signatures or digital stamps will not be accepted.
· Official translations will be required for stamps or certificates that are not in English.
· Attestations on the back of a document will not be accepted.
